Second album by Soul Syndicate for California-based Epiphany Records, which was under the ownership of Flo & Eddie (The Turtles). The first album was entitled: "Harvest Uptown, Famine Downtown". They also recorded a wicked rocksteady-beat album with Flo & Eddie, not surprisingly named "Rocksteady with Flo & Eddie". This album "Was, Is & Always" sounds great! The Soul Syndicate was the top Jamaican session band during between 1972 and 1977.
Soul Syndicate Band is: George Fullwood (bass / founding member), Earl "Chinna" Smith (lead-guitar), Carlton "Santa" Davis (drums), Tony "Valentine" Chin (rhythm-guitar), Richard "Jamaka" Johnson (keyboards), Harold Butler (keyboards). Of course supplemented by percussionists and horn-players.
